PMC X-Tac 5.56x45 NATO 55 Grain FMJBT
I recently picked up a few boxes of PMC X-Tac 5.56x45 FMJBT ammo, and after running it through my AR, I’m quite pleased with the results. - Performance and Accuracy This ammo is built to military specifications, and it shows in its performance. With a muzzle velocity of 3,270 fps, it offers excellent consistency and speed, which I noticed right off the bat. Over the course of about 200 rounds, I achieved reliable groupings around 1.5 MOA, which is more than sufficient for target shooting and training purposes. The boat-tail design helps improve stability in flight, and it pairs well with a variety of optics. Even at distances past 200 yards, the rounds held a predictable and tight trajectory. - Reliability Reliability is where PMC X-Tac shines. Across the full session, I didn’t experience a single misfire, jam, or feeding issue in my AR. The brass casings are well-made and re-loadable, which is a bonus for anyone who enjoys reloading their own ammunition. The ammo also burns fairly clean. After the session, I noticed minimal fouling compared to other bulk rounds I’ve used in the past. - Quality and Cost PMC ammunition is known for producing high-quality rounds at a reasonable price, and this 5.56 offering is no exception. While it’s a bit pricier than some bargain-bin ammo, the extra cost is justified by its reliability and clean performance. If you’re looking for rounds to store, train, or plink with confidence, this is a solid choice. - Pros and Cons Pros: . Reliable feeding and cycling. . Accurate for general training and target shooting. . Clean-burning powder minimizes fouling. . Reloadable, high-quality brass casings. - Cons: . Slightly more expensive than bulk-grade ammo. . Not designed for match-level precision. .FMJ rounds are not suitable for self-defense purposes. - My final thoughts If you’re searching for dependable and consistent 5.56 NATO ammo for range days, target practice, or training, PMC X-Tac 5.56x45 55 Grain FMJBT is an excellent choice. It performs reliably, shoots accurately, and maintains quality without breaking the bank. Whether you're an enthusiast, a re-loader, or someone just looking to stock up, this ammo checks all the right boxes.

Excellent
I see people complain about shipping being high. But those that can still add and subtract know it works out to be about the same if not 1-2 cents cheaper per round. I much rather purchase from a family business than a big box store. It takes a week or so to ship out but once shipped you receive it fast from Fedx. Unfortunately Amazon has spoiled these people to think everything needs to be super cheap and delivered tomorrow. But Amazon also has a ton of knockoffs and you never know what you’re gonna get. Thank you Southern Defense, I will purchase more next pay period.

You're shooting your AR at the range. Maybe you also coyote hunt on the weekends. When you need a good multi-purpose round, the PMC X-Tac 5.56x45mm Nato 55 grain round is the perfect option. Budget-friendly when you light up the range but still quality ammo you can count on.
PMC is a completely in-house operation. This means that manufacturing standards are high. And when all the shelves are mostly empty, you’ll still be able to find quality ammo from PMC.
