Tinck Arms Unveils Perun X47: A New Modular Rifle in 7.62x39mm from Slovenia

The Slovenian firearms manufacturer Tinck Arms has revealed its latest innovation at IWA 2025 - the Perun X47, a modular semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm. This new model builds upon the foundation established by the company's Perun X16 in 5.56x45mm NATO/.223 Remington, which was first introduced to the market in August 2019.

Unlike its predecessor that utilized a modified AR-15 lower receiver, the Perun X47 features a completely proprietary lower receiver design specifically engineered to accommodate standard AKM-pattern magazines regardless of capacity, material, or manufacturer.

The rifle maintains Tinck Arms' distinctive hybrid operating system that combines short-stroke gas piston technology with direct gas impingement alongside a rotary bolt locking mechanism for reliable cycling under adverse conditions.

Available in three barrel length configurations (266mm/10.5", 317mm/12.5", and 368mm/14.5"), the Perun X47 offers versatility for different tactical applications. The overall length ranges from a compact 60.5cm/23.8" with the stock folded to 80cm/31.4" fully extended.
