Springfield Armory Introduces Modernized TRP Lineup: Now with 9mm and Optics Compatibility

Springfield Armory has just revealed a major evolution of their celebrated TRP (Tactical Response Pistol) series with two significant upgrades. Breaking from tradition, the iconic 1911-platform pistol—previously offered exclusively in .45 ACP—now expands to include 9mm options. Simultaneously, Springfield has integrated their innovative AOS (Agency Optics System) across the new models, enabling seamless mounting of popular red dot optics.

These next-generation TRPs preserve the premium construction that earned the original its stellar reputation. Shooters will appreciate the continuation of forged slides and frames, protective Cerakote finishes, and precision Match-Grade barrels—now enhanced with expanded caliber options and modern optics capability.

The expansion introduces eight distinct variants to the TRP family, offering combinations of:

• Two finish options: Coyote Brown or Black Cerakote
• Two caliber choices: 9mm or traditional .45 ACP
• Two barrel configurations: Full-size 5" or Carry Contour 4.25"
