Enhanced Carry Pistol Gets the Performance Center Treatment
Smith & Wesson, headquartered in Tennessee, announced this week that their highly regarded Bodyguard 2.0 will receive the specialized Performance Center Carry Comp enhancement for 2025. This development represents a significant upgrade to an already successful platform.
Evolution of the Bodyguard Platform
From Original to 2.0
The current Bodyguard 2.0 made its debut last July as a comprehensive modernization of the company's decade-old 6+1 .380 caliber Bodyguard pistol. While maintaining the same fundamental dimensions and caliber as its predecessor, the updated model underwent substantial internal changes by transitioning from its original operating system to a striker-fired action.
Key Improvements Over Legacy Model
The second-generation Bodyguard incorporated several notable enhancements:
- Ergonomic Redesign: Eliminated finger grooves for improved grip comfort
- Enhanced Slide Design: Added serrations along nearly the entire slide length for better manipulation
- Trigger Upgrade: Features a flat-face trigger design
- Increased Capacity: Upgraded from 6+1 to 10+1 rounds with flush-fit magazine and 12+1 with extended magazine
