SK Customs continues its tradition of creating historically inspired, intricately decorated firearms with the latest addition to their acclaimed series. The "Hidalgo" pistol represents the fifth and final chapter in the Mexican Independence collection, offered as an exclusive limited production of just 200 units. Built on the classic full-size, Government Model Colt 1911 platform, each piece is chambered in .38 Super and carries an individually engraved serial number. Pre-launch pricing is set at $2,650 per firearm.

Detailed Artistic Elements and Design Features

The right side of each pistol showcases an elaborate artistic rendering depicting Hidalgo surrounded by liberated enslaved people. The engraving also includes representations of his fellow insurgents who fought alongside him in the campaign to abolish slavery. Both the front and rear portions of the slide are adorned with the Mexican Eagle emblem and decorative scrollwork.

Top Slide Engravings

The upper surface of the slide features a detailed portrait of Hidalgo holding aloft the banner bearing the image of the Virgin Mary (Our Lady of Guadalupe), accompanied by a dove in flight and his honored designation as "Padre De La Patria" (Father of the Nation). Positioned behind the chamber area is a stylized Aztec Eagle design incorporating sun imagery and severed chain links—powerful symbols representing liberation from Spanish colonial rule.

Premium Finish and Specifications

Every component—including the frame, slide, barrel, and hardware—receives meticulous polishing before being finished in a rich Colt Royal Blue coating. Selected areas and control surfaces are enhanced with 24-karat gold plating, creating striking visual contrast. The historical tribute is completed with elegant Black Pearl Kirinite grip panels and the legendary Rampant Colt medallion rendered in gold.

Official Statement from SK Customs

"SK Guns®, the Nation's only series-driven, limited-edition manufacturer of custom firearms, is proud to announce the fifth installment of the Mexican Independence series. This latest firearm honors Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a Mexican priest who is regarded as the Father of the Nation.

"Hidalgo's role in the independence movement emerged from his deep frustration with the injustices faced by the lower classes under Spanish rule, including heavy taxation, land dispossession and racial discrimination," said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Guns. "Hidalgo was not just involved in this movement; he was the movement. We realized early on that Hidalgo was the only option to be the culmination of our Mexican independence series."
