SHOT Show 2026: Outlier USA Expands Backdraft System and Launches Suppressor-Focused Lineup

Author: | Publish Date: Mar 17, 2026 | Fact checked by: Marko Lalovic

At SHOT Show 2026, we caught up with Outlier USA to see how they’re building on their innovative O.P.S. (Outlier Precision System)—with a major push into suppressors, new calibers, and expanded AR platform offerings.

This year, Outlier is doubling down on one message: integrated systems + suppressor-ready setups, backed by aggressive promotional offers.

Backdraft Barrel System: The Core of O.P.S.

At the heart of Outlier’s ecosystem is the Backdraft Barrel system, first introduced previously and now expanded for 2026.

The system is designed around:

  • Suppressor optimization

  • Integrated performance tuning

  • Compatibility with Outlier chassis and upper platforms

For 2026, Outlier is expanding the system with magnum-rated options, making it more versatile across a wider range of calibers and shooting applications.

Hunter M: Magnum-Rated Upgrade

One of the key updates is the introduction of the Hunter M, a magnum-rated version of the Backdraft-compatible suppressor system.

Highlights include:

  • Built from 7075 aluminum

  • Designed for higher-pressure magnum cartridges

  • Expanded compatibility across Outlier’s lineup

This fills a gap in the previous lineup, allowing shooters running larger calibers to stay within the Outlier ecosystem.

Poacher Suppressor: New Stainless Steel Option

Outlier also introduced the Poacher suppressor, a new stainless steel suppressor option for 2026.

Key points:

  • Durable stainless construction

  • Designed for broader use cases and longevity

  • Complements the existing suppressor lineup

Combined with the Hunter M, this gives Outlier a more complete suppressor offering across both standard and magnum applications.

AR Platform Expansion: AR-9 and AR-15 Uppers

Outlier is also expanding into the AR market with new Backdraft-compatible upper receivers:

  • AR-9 upper (new for 2026)

  • AR-15 upper (available now)

Both are designed to integrate directly into the O.P.S. ecosystem, maintaining consistency across barrels, suppressors, and chassis systems.

“Year of the Suppressor” Strategy

Outlier is clearly leaning into what many brands at SHOT Show are calling “the year of the suppressor.”

To support this, they’re running a strong promotion:

  • Free suppressor rebate with any barrel or chassis purchase

  • Applies across their product lineup, including uppers

  • Special SHOT Show code: OUTLIER for additional promotional access

This approach ties together their ecosystem—encouraging shooters to adopt the full system rather than individual components.

Full-Auto Rated & Configurable Options

Outlier’s suppressor offerings are built to handle demanding use cases:

  • Full-auto rated options available

  • Configurable based on caliber and use case

  • Designed to work seamlessly with Backdraft barrels and O.P.S. chassis

Final Thoughts

Outlier USA’s SHOT Show 2026 presence is all about integration. By combining the Backdraft Barrel system, new suppressors like the Poacher, and expanded AR platform support, they’re building a cohesive ecosystem around suppressed shooting.

Add in aggressive rebate offers, and it’s clear Outlier is positioning itself to capture attention in a rapidly growing suppressor market.
