At SHOT Show 2026, we stopped by Burn Proof Gear to take a closer look at their latest releases—gear built around real-world heat management, modularity, and rapid access when it matters most.

From a redesigned magnetic IFAK system to expanded armor loadout options and their well-known high-temperature suppressor covers, Burn Proof Gear continues to refine the essentials shooters actually rely on.

New Magnetic IFAK System

One of the standout updates for 2026 is Burn Proof Gear’s new IFAK with a magnetic retention system. Both the IFAK insert and the holder feature sewn-in magnets, helping keep everything secure while still allowing fast access.

Key features include:

• Magnetic retention between pouch and insert

• Elastic sealing band to keep the kit closed

• Fully modular internal layout

Inside, the IFAK is designed to be configured exactly how the user—or their medic—wants it set up. Individual expandable sections allow for custom placement of chest seals, gauze, and smaller items like ARS needles, without forcing users to dig through oversized compartments.

Multiple pull options from either side make deployment intuitive under stress, and a dedicated patch zone clearly identifies the pouch at a glance—whether mounted or staged separately.

Burn Proof Gear also previewed a new expanded cummerbund, moving beyond elastic-only magazine retention.

Unlike traditional elastic cummerbunds, this new design supports:

• MOLLE-mounted accessories

• Non-magazine items that don’t fit standard elastic pouches

This upgrade is especially useful for military and LE users running breaching kits or charge bags, where MOLLE mounting is simply more practical than elastic retention.

Both the new IFAK and the expanded cummerbund are expected to release later this year.

Suppressor Covers: Still the Core of the Brand

Burn Proof Gear’s suppressor covers remain their flagship product—and for good reason. Designed as a two-part heat management system, they’re built to handle extreme temperatures:

• Inner sleeve rated up to 2000°F

• Outer cover rated up to 1000°F

• Overall rating based on the lowest failure point: 1000°F

Available in Black, FDE, and Wheat Tan, these covers are designed to prevent burns and gear damage once suppressors heat up—something most shooters don’t think about until it’s too late.

Rail Wraps for High-Heat Control

Also on display were Burn Proof Gear’s rail wraps, rated up to 1000°F and designed with slits on both the top and bottom. This allows shooters to continue running:
