At SHOT Show 2025, we got our hands on one of the most anticipated collaborations in the firearms industry - the new Ruger RXM pistol. During our exclusive hands-on experience at the Ruger booth, we were thoroughly impressed by this innovative handgun's performance and features. Watch our exclusive video preview below to see our live testing and in-depth look at this game-changing pistol that's set to hit the market in spring 2025.
The Ruger RXM pistol represents a groundbreaking partnership between two giants of the American firearms industry - Ruger and Magpul. This collaboration has produced a remarkably versatile 9mm handgun that combines Ruger's renowned reliability with Magpul's expertise in ergonomics and modularity.
At the heart of the RXM's innovative design is Ruger's proprietary "Fire Control Insert," a serialized chassis system that opens up exciting possibilities for customization. The modular architecture allows for interchangeable grip modules, giving shooters the flexibility to adapt the pistol to their specific needs and preferences. Taking inspiration from the proven Glock Gen3 platform, the RXM maintains compatibility with many popular aftermarket components, including magazine releases, slide-stop levers, and sights.
The RXM comes optics-ready straight from the factory, with a precisely milled slide that accommodates popular red-dot sights including the Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro. The standard configuration features a co-witness height tritium front sight and steel drift-adjustable rear sight, providing reliable backup sighting options.
Built around a 4-inch barrel and measuring 7.15 inches in overall length, the RXM strikes an excellent balance between concealability and shootability. The pistol ships with Magpul's Enhanced Handgun Grip in Stealth Gray, featuring refined ergonomics that promote natural point of aim and recoil management. With a 15+1 round capacity and weighing just 23.2 ounces unloaded, the RXM is equally suitable for personal defense, competitive shooting, or recreational use.
Perhaps most impressive is the RXM's $499 MSRP, which includes premium features like the black FNC nitride finish and optics-ready slide - making it an exceptional value in today's market. This competitive price point, combined with its modularity and compatibility with existing aftermarket parts, positions the RXM as a compelling option for both first-time buyers and experienced shooters looking to expand their collection.
