At the recent NRA Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Savage Arms showcased exciting additions to their product lineup, featuring innovations in both their AccuCan suppressor series and Stance handgun collection.
Next-Generation AccuCan Suppressor Technology
Introducing the Revolutionary AC30 B.O.B. AccuCan
Savage Arms has expanded their suppressor offerings with the introduction of the AC30 B.O.B. (Back-Over-Barrel) AccuCan. This latest addition represents Savage's first venture into back-over-barrel suppressor design, arriving just in time for NRAAM 2025.
Building on the foundation established when Savage debuted its AccuCan lineup at last year's SHOT Show, the AC30 B.O.B. maintains the signature lightweight construction that hunters have come to appreciate. Like its predecessors in the AccuCan family—which includes the rimfire AC22, the powerful AC338 (.338 Lapua Magnum-rated), and the more recent AC350 (.350 Legend-focused)—the new suppressor features premium materials and advanced engineering.
The AC30 B.O.B. is crafted from a strategic combination of aluminum and titanium, incorporating Savage's built-in self-cleaning carbon cutters and durable hard coat anodizing. What sets this model apart is its innovative sleeve-like design that fits over the muzzle. While the suppressor itself measures 8 inches in length, its back-over-barrel configuration means it adds only 4 inches to the overall rifle length.
"It still has great sound reduction even with that reduced length added to the barrel," explained Brett McKenna, a Savage Arms representative.
The technical specifications are impressive, with sound reduction rated at 133 decibels when used with .308 Winchester ammunition from a 20-inch barrel. The AC30 B.O.B. weighs a manageable 13.7 ounces and features a 2-inch diameter.
This suppressor is rated for use with .30-caliber cartridges up to .300 Winchester Magnum, with manufacturer guidelines specifying a controlled firing rate—one round every second for up to 20 rounds, after which the unit should be allowed to cool to ambient temperature before further use.
The AC30 B.O.B. AccuCan is available now with an MSRP of $999.
Stance Handgun Evolution
Stance XR: Enhanced Capacity and Tactical Features
Savage Arms has significantly upgraded their Stance handgun line, which initially marked the company's return to semi-automatic handguns in 2022—a full century after discontinuing production of the Savage Automatic (Model 1917).
The new Stance XR models feature substantial improvements in magazine capacity. Moving beyond the original 7+1 or 8+1 configurations, Savage now offers 10+1 flush-fit magazines and 13+1 extended options. As McKenna noted, it's a "very compact gun to hold 13 rounds, and it didn't really change the overall size at all."
The Stance XR comes equipped with a quick-release optics plate, accommodating popular micro red dot sights for enhanced target acquisition. Additionally, the handgun incorporates a front Picatinny rail, providing versatility for mounting tactical accessories such as lights or lasers.
User-friendly ambidextrous controls, including the magazine release, make the Stance XR accessible to both right and left-handed shooters. Savage has created an impressive array of options, with 15 different variants across three distinct colorways—Black, Flat Dark Earth, and Gray.
Configuration options include models with a manual safety, factory-installed Crimson Trace micro red dot sights, and night sights for low-light situations.
The Stance XR is competitively priced with MSRPs ranging from $469 for standard models to $659 for versions including pre-installed optics.
