Ruger Revolutionizes the 10/22 Platform with Ultra-Light Carbon Fiber Design

Author: Nick Miles | Publish Date: Dec 24, 2024

Ruger has pushed the boundaries of their legendary 10/22 platform with the introduction of their lightest variant yet, tipping the scales at a mere 3.5 pounds. At the heart of this innovation is a revolutionary 16.1-inch carbon fiber-sleeved barrel, combining a cold hammer-forged stainless steel core with advanced composite technology. This hybrid design delivers exceptional rigidity while minimizing barrel harmonics, and includes standard 1/2"-28 threading for compatible muzzle devices and suppressors.

The rifle's foundation is built on Magpul's proven MOE X-22 stock, featuring a distinctive black splatter paint finish that enhances grip retention in adverse conditions. The stock's 13.5-inch length of pull provides comfortable ergonomics, while integrated M-LOK slots at the 6 o'clock position and built-in sling loop mounting points offer expansive customization options. The inclusion of Ruger's premium BX-Trigger® system delivers competition-grade performance with a precise 2.75-pound pull weight.

For precision enthusiasts, Ruger's Custom Shop has simultaneously launched two specialized variants featuring the Grey Birch chassis system, available for both right and left-handed rifle shooters. These competition-focused models retain the tensioned carbon fiber-sleeved barrel technology while adding a folding chassis with adjustable length of pull and comb height. The chassis incorporates a 10-inch forend with M-LOK compatibility and an Arca-Swiss rail for maximum versatility.
