Remington's 2025 Ammunition Lineup: Hands-On at SHOT Show

Author: Nick Miles | Publish Date: Feb 06, 2025

We just wrapped up an exciting week doing a summary of our SHOT Show 2025 coverage last month, and now it is time to talk about how we got our hands on Remington's impressive new ammunition lineup. Our team spent quality time with their product specialists, testing and examining their latest innovations. Check out our detailed video previews below for an up-close look at these new offerings, including exclusive range footage and interviews with Remington's development team.

The star of Remington's 2025 collection is their new Core-Lokt Tipped Lever Gun ammunition series. During our testing at SHOT Show, we were particularly impressed by the innovative polymer tip design, which maintains the reliability lever-action enthusiasts demand while delivering enhanced downrange performance. The engineering team showed us how they achieved significantly improved ballistic coefficients across the lineup – the .360 Buckhammer 180-grain load, for instance, jumps from a BC of .163 with traditional soft points to .212 with the new tipped design, translating to noticeably flatter trajectories and better wind resistance.

The series launches with six carefully chosen calibers: .30-30 Winchester (150-grain), .35 Remington (200-grain), .45-70 (300-grain), .444 Marlin (240-grain), .32 Winchester Special (170-grain), and .360 Buckhammer (180-grain). Each load has been optimized specifically for lever-action platforms, maintaining reliable feeding while maximizing external ballistics.

Remington's collaboration with industry legend Bill Wilson has produced another exciting addition – a 150-grain Core-Lokt load for the .300 Ham'r. For magnum enthusiasts, they're also introducing a 180-grain Core-Lokt Tipped option in .300 Remington Ultra Magnum, which demonstrated impressive accuracy during our range session.

The shotgun lineup sees significant expansion with the introduction of Premier Royal Flush upland loads. These shells feature premium plated lead shot, and our pattern testing at the show revealed remarkably consistent spreads. Available in shot sizes from No. 4 to No. 6, these loads cover everything from preserve birds to late-season pheasants. Budget-conscious waterfowlers will appreciate the new Duck Club steel loads in both 12-gauge and 20-gauge options.

Perhaps the most innovative addition to their waterfowl line is the Nitro Steel Duplex 20 gauge. These 3-inch, 1-ounce loads come in three different shot combinations (2×4, 2×6, or 4×6), offering versatility for sub-gauge hunters. During our demonstration, the pattern density and energy retention were particularly impressive.

Rimfire enthusiasts haven't been forgotten. The new Wheelgun 22 features a purpose-built 39-grain truncated-cone lead bullet specifically designed for revolvers, delivering minimal report and clean cycling. We also got to test the Standard V, featuring a 38-grain lead round-nose bullet that's perfect for high-volume shooting. Remington has even revisited the classic .22 Short, offering both 29-grain plated round nose and 27-grain plated hollow point options. All these new rimfire products feature Remington's updated "R" headstamp, signifying their latest production technology.
