Marlin Introduces 10mm Chambering in the 1894 Trapper

Marlin has expanded its Trapper series with a chambering no one really expected. The 1894 Trapper is now offered in 10mm Auto, marking the first time a Marlin lever action has been built around this cartridge. Bringing a rimless semi automatic round into a lever gun platform is a notable shift for the company and an interesting step forward for lever action design.

The new variant follows the established Trapper blueprint. It uses a full stainless steel build paired with a rugged laminate stock and forend. Instead of the classic barrel mounted sight, Marlin equips this model with a receiver mounted Skinner peep sight for faster alignment. The 16 inch barrel carries 5/8x24 muzzle threads, allowing for the addition of brakes or suppressor compatible devices.

Capacity is one of the standout differences. The 10mm Trapper holds ten rounds in its tubular magazine. This is two more than the .357 and .44 Magnum versions and double the capacity of the .30-30 and .45-70 models. One limitation worth noting is that the rifle does not accept .40 S&W ammunition. Ruger has set the MSRP at 1599 dollars, and the rifle is already shipping.
