Introducing the 2025 CZ Shadow 2 Target: Precision Redefined

While polymer-frame, striker-fired pistols dominate today's market, Czech manufacturer Česká zbrojovka (CZ) continues to evolve their iconic CZ-75 platform. This legendary "Wonder Nine" from the 1970s has inspired countless designs over the decades, and CZ's commitment to refinement continues with their latest competition-focused offering: the 2025 Shadow 2 Target.

Introducing the 2025 CZ Shadow 2 Target

The CZ-75 has long been cherished as an exceptional foundation for competitive shooting platforms. In 2016, CZ introduced the Shadow 2 variant, optimized for practical pistol competition with enhancements like an elevated beavertail tang, undercut trigger guard, and comprehensive checkering. Now, the Shadow 2 Target takes this evolution further with specific modifications designed for bullseye competition shooting.

At the heart of the Shadow 2 Target is precision engineering. Shooters can choose between a 4.89" or 5.89" cold hammer-forged barrel, each hand-fitted to the slide and featuring a newly designed protective crown. These barrels come backed by a lifetime warranty, underlining CZ's confidence in their craftsmanship. The slide itself sports deeper cocking serrations and comes equipped with LPA sights—including a fully adjustable rear sight and front blade (with two width options included: 3.5mm and 3mm).

The CZ Shadow 2 Target comes in two barrel length options: a 4.89" (5") version and a 5.89" (6") variant.

The trigger system represents another significant advancement. This single-action-only setup offers comprehensive adjustability: shooters can fine-tune take-up, overtravel, and pull weight (ranging from 1.3 to 3.8 pounds). Adding to this customization, the trigger shoe itself can be positioned in five different configurations to achieve the perfect length of pull.

The all-steel frame has undergone thoughtful redesign, featuring a more pronounced trigger guard undercut and ergonomically optimized front and rear strap checkering. The dustcover includes pre-drilled and tapped mounting points for frame weights, with the 5" model weighing in at 46.5 ounces and the 6" version adding two additional ounces.

The Shadow 2 Target features a fully customizable trigger system that allows shooters to precisely adjust take-up, overtravel, and pull weight to their exact preferences.

Purpose-built controls enhance the shooting experience, including a redesigned slide stop and low-profile magazine release. Safety is addressed with bilateral levers, while custom G10 grips provide exceptional hand feel. Each pistol ships with three 17-round magazines.

The 2025 CZ Shadow 2 Target carries an MSRP of $2,500 for the 5" barrel version, while the 6" model is priced at $2,600.
