Henry Repeating Arms, whose motto "Made In America, Or Not Made At All" has long defined their brand identity, has announced the complete relocation of all production operations to Wisconsin, effectively ending their manufacturing presence in New Jersey.
This strategic consolidation marks another chapter in the ongoing migration of firearms manufacturers away from northeastern states, with Henry following other industry players in moving operations to more gun-friendly regions.
The company's history in the Northeast runs deep, with the revitalized brand beginning production in Brooklyn during the mid-1990s before establishing its Bayonne, New Jersey facility. However, Henry has been gradually building its Wisconsin presence since 2014, when they opened their Rice Lake plant dedicated to producing steel-framed centerfire rifles. The company further expanded in the state by establishing corporate headquarters in Rice Lake and adding manufacturing facilities in Ladysmith in 2021, with subsequent expansion there as well.
Since its inception, Henry Repeating Arms has been instrumental in driving consumer interest in American-made lever action firearms. The company's dedication to this classic rifle platform has created a resurgence in popularity among shooting enthusiasts. As Henry expands its product line with groundbreaking lever-action designs while venturing into additional market segments, the consolidated Wisconsin operations will significantly enhance their production capabilities. This centralization enables faster product development cycles, optimizes distribution networks, and maintains rigorous quality standards—positioning Henry to effectively serve the evolving needs of firearms enthusiasts, competitive shooters, hunters, and collectors both now and in the future.
Anthony Imperato, founder and CEO of Henry Repeating Arms, explained the business rationale behind the consolidation on the company's website: "We are putting all of our eggs in one basket, the Wisconsin basket, because it makes us more efficient, more productive, and allows for more collaboration amongst our design and engineering teams, all while sustaining and enhancing Henry's solid reputation for quality."
Imperato added, "With about 400,000 square feet of cutting-edge manufacturing operations in four facilities within minutes of each other, Henry Repeating Arms is well positioned for its next chapter."
The consolidation comes during a period of significant product expansion for Henry, which has recently introduced several new firearms including a magazine-fed lever-action rifle, a line of revolvers, the semi-automatic Homesteader PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine), and various other models. The Wisconsin manufacturing hub appears strategically positioned to meet increasing production demands as the company continues to diversify its product offerings.
