Griffin Armament Unveils Revolutionary MK2 9mm PCC Platform

Griffin Armament has stepped into the PCC market with their groundbreaking MK2 9mm, setting a new standard in pistol caliber carbine design. This innovative platform represents the first fully ambidextrous 9mm AR-15 featuring a premium forged 7075-T6 receiver set with Type III Hardcoat Anodizing.

At the heart of this system is a meticulously engineered lower receiver that accepts both Colt and Metal Form magazines in 10, 20, and 32-round configurations. The design incorporates a precision 1/4x28 nylon-tipped tension screw, allowing users to fine-tune the upper-lower fitment to their preferences. Building on Griffin's successful MK2 5.56mm line, the 9mm variant maintains the same proven ambidextrous control layout.

The engineering team at Griffin took a fresh approach to magazine compatibility, developing a purpose-built magwell specifically for Colt SMG magazines. This ground-up design enabled them to optimize the feed ramp geometry and magazine interface beyond what's possible with conventional magwell adapters. The proprietary feed ramp, crafted from nitrided 17-4 steel, is secured using an innovative "whistlenotch" geometry with three Allen screws. This arrangement ensures perfect cartridge alignment with the chamber of the 416R stainless steel HEDP 9mm barrel.

A significant advancement comes in the form of an integrated ejector and bolt catch extension, eliminating the adjustment requirements found in traditional Colt systems. The brass buffer system has been carefully weighted and sized to control bolt carrier group travel, preventing case retention issues in the fire control pocket.

The MK2 9mm showcases Griffin's latest 2-stage trigger system, which combines:

• Mil-spec 62RC 8620 trigger material
• 53RC 440C tool stainless disconnector
• 440C 53RC nickel Teflon coated tool steel lightened speed hammer

Available configurations include:

• 4.5" barrel model with 7.5" suppressed M-LOK handguard
• 9.5" barrel variant with 13.5" suppressed M-LOK handguard
• 16" version with 13.5" M-LOK handguard

The shorter 4.5" and 9.5" models feature Griffin's 3-Lug barrel adapter, optimized for use with their Sportsman Ultra Light HD .36 or Bushwhacker .36 suppressors. The 16" model comes equipped with a Griffin Taper Mount Flash Hider, compatible with their Taper Mount suppressors and HUB-mount suppressors using the Griffin Taper Mount HUB interface.
