Building Upon Little Badger Success with Enhanced Design

Chiappa Firearms has unveiled its latest innovation for the American shooting market with the introduction of the Big Badger, a distinctive single-shot rifle set to debut in 2025. This new offering represents an evolution of the company's popular Little Badger platform, expanding the concept into a more robust and feature-rich package that challenges conventional single-shot break-action rifle designs.

Multi-Caliber Platform Specifications

Three Distinct Caliber Configurations

The Big Badger arrives with an impressive range of chambering options, catering to diverse shooting applications. Shooters can select from .410, 30/30, and 350 Legend calibers, each optimized for different purposes while maintaining the rifle's core design philosophy. This caliber variety ensures the platform can serve hunters, sport shooters, and enthusiasts across multiple disciplines.

Innovative Folding Break-Action Design

Maintaining the single-shot architecture that made its predecessor successful, the Big Badger incorporates several enhanced practical elements. The break-action mechanism enables the rifle to fold completely, creating a compact profile ideal for transportation and storage in tight spaces. This folding capability sets it apart from traditional single-shot rifles while maintaining operational simplicity.

Advanced Rail System and Modularity

Comprehensive Mounting Solutions

The rifle features an extensive rail system integrated into both the receiver and chamber areas. This system includes dedicated top and bottom rails complemented by MLOK slots positioned along the sides, providing shooters with versatile mounting options for optics, foregrips, tactical lights, and other accessories. This modular approach allows users to customize the rifle according to their specific needs and preferences.

Ergonomic Stock Design and Construction

Steel Rod Architecture with Enhanced Comfort Features

The Big Badger employs a steel rod stock configuration featuring a curved rifle grip that promotes natural handling and improved balance during use. A fixed recoil-absorbing buttpad comes standard, helping manage felt recoil across all caliber options. Additionally, an adjustable cheek rest enhances shooter comfort and provides proper sight alignment, particularly when using optics.

Barrel and Action Specifications

Consistent Barrel Length Across Platform

All Big Badger models feature a 20-inch barrel length, providing an optimal balance between accuracy potential and maneuverability. The action operates via a trigger-shaped release mechanism that opens the break-action system, while an integrated extractor facilitates easy cartridge removal after firing. Each rifle measures 35 inches in overall lengthand maintains a consistent 5.5-pound weight across all caliber variants.

Caliber-Specific Features and Configurations

.410 Shotgun Configuration

The .410 model incorporates a smooth bore design optimized for shotshell performance. It includes an integrated front sight post for quick target acquisition and features Beretta/Benelli Mobile Choke threads with an MC-1 modified choke included. This configuration makes it suitable for small game hunting and pest control applications.

30/30 Winchester Specifications

The 30/30 model features a 1:12 rifled bore engineered for optimal bullet stabilization with traditional 30/30 Winchester ammunition. This variant includes a threaded muzzle with a protective muzzle protector but does not include a front sight post, allowing shooters to customize their sighting system according to preference.

350 Legend Configuration Details

The 350 Legend model mirrors the 30/30's basic setup while incorporating a 1:16 twist rate specifically optimized for the 350 Legend cartridge's bullet weights and performance characteristics. Like the 30/30 variant, it features a threaded muzzle with protector and no integrated front sight post, providing maximum flexibility for optic mounting and customization.
