Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. continues to demonstrate its dedication to fostering the next generation of shooting sports enthusiasts. During the final quarter of 2023, the firearms manufacturer conducted 17 special auctions through GunBroker.com, generating $25,000 in proceeds that were donated to the MidwayUSA Foundation to support youth shooting programs nationwide.

This philanthropic initiative is part of Ruger's longstanding commitment to charitable giving through online auctions, which began in 2010. Over the past 13+ years, the company has channeled more than $900,000 to various charitable organizations, with all auction proceeds going directly to the designated beneficiaries.

"We're proud to contribute to MidwayUSA Foundation's mission through our GunBroker.com fundraising auctions," stated Paul Pluff, Ruger's Public Relations Manager. "These contributions help sustain the foundation's crucial work in supporting youth shooting sports programs that provide essential safety education and firearms training for tomorrow's shooting enthusiasts."

The MidwayUSA Foundation currently manages dedicated endowments for approximately 2,600 youth shooting teams across the country. This structure allows teams to receive annual grants equivalent to 5 percent of their endowment balance, providing critical funding for essentials like ammunition, targets, safety gear, and competition travel expenses.

G. Scott Reynolds, Executive Director of the MidwayUSA Foundation, expressed his gratitude: "Ruger continues to lead by example through their direct support of youth participation in shooting sports. Their generosity ensures that young Americans have both the opportunity and financial backing to engage in their chosen shooting disciplines." Reynolds further emphasized that "Commitment from industry leaders like Ruger creates meaningful impact in promoting youth development through shooting sports. We're incredibly thankful for their partnership and support of our mission."

This recent donation follows Ruger's 2023 contribution of $24,000 to the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF), also raised through GunBroker.com auctions. At that time, Ruger president and CEO Chris Killoy highlighted the importance of such initiatives: "Supporting organizations like the SSSF is vital to our industry. We're excited to continue backing the SSSF in its mission to provide educational and developmental opportunities to young people interested in shooting sports, while giving our loyal customers the chance to bid on unique Ruger firearms."
