No, Sierra MatchKing was designed for competition shooting. It was not designed to fragment appropriately after impact and shouldn’t be used for hunting.

Typically you want to combine speed with penetration. Something that shoots accurately but has enough energy to knock targets down quickly. Generally, a medium grain weight is best for competition.

Federal .308 Win will fly straight until about 200 yards, where it experiences a slight drop. It then drops more dramatically at the 300-yard mark. If you are an experienced marksman and adjust for trajectory drop, you can shoot this ammo reliably up to 1,000 yards or beyond.
