The 686 Silver Pigeon I family is finally whole. Beretta has revealed the last installment of its updated 680-series range, delivering the revised sub-gauge field guns along with the first sub-gauge Sporting setups ever offered under the Silver Pigeon I name.
The update isn't brand new, strictly speaking. The Silver Pigeon I received a makeover in 2025 when Beretta introduced a reworked top lever with relocated release pin geometry for an easier opening effort, paired with finer floral laser engraving that now extends around the receiver tail and hinge pins. What this latest news does is carry those revisions over to the 28-gauge and .410 bore field guns, while adding Sporting versions in both sub-gauges—closing a gap that's lingered for some time.
Those Sporting models feature the B-FAST adjustable stock system, providing drop, cast, height, and rotation adjustment in a setup that should attract competitive shooters who've been after a lighter-recoiling option for breaking clays. The 28-gauge especially has built a devoted following among sporting clays enthusiasts who favor the gentler recoil and reduced payload as a training and recreational tool, so receiving the complete Silver Pigeon I Sporting treatment in that gauge is a genuine addition to the range.
Every new model is built on Beretta's low-profile 680-series action and arrives standard with Steelium cold hammer-forged barrels using Optimabore HP choke geometry, a select European walnut stock and forend, and the Extralight recoil pad. A 686 Silver Pigeon I Combo, which combines barrel sets for sub-gauge shooters seeking versatility in a single package, completes the announcement at $4,599.
The sub-gauge field models carry a price of $2,899, the same as the 12- and 20-gauge field guns. The B-FAST Sporting versions move up to $3,399. All five new configurations are shipping to authorized Beretta dealers across the country now.
